Finance for Non-Financial Managers
This course is designed to help middle to senior managers and professionals—particularly those without formal finance or accounting qualifications—gain confidence in reading and interpreting key financial reports. Participants will develop skills to critically assess their organisation's financial situation, identify opportunities for improvement, and make informed decisions based on financial data.
What is covered in this course?
- Interpret and understand financial information with confidence
- Apply financial analysis when making management decisions.
- Read and understand the three key financial accounting reports- the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement and Statement of Cash Flows.
- Use financial information to assess an organisations financial health including identification of weaknesses and opportunities.
- Clearly understand internal budget/actual reports.

Who is the instructor?
Mark Priadko B Econ (Hons); Grad Dip (Marketing)
Mark helps people think through complex situations and opportunities. His clients include organisations from all levels of government (state, federal and local), Universities, and other for-profit and not-for-profit organisations. The first half of his professional career led him to Executive roles in South Australian Treasury and Finance. He has a deep knowledge of government decision-making processes and public sector financial management. Mark’s former responsibilities in Treasury and Finance included providing advice on the State Government’s financial strategy, legislation and policies, overseeing whole of government banking, financial reporting and related financial systems and working with agencies as part of the annual budget process and weekly Cabinet processes. His love of learning, his experience and understanding of finances and strategy and his curiosity lead him to insights into how organisations and their various functions and projects can be progressed or improved. Mark works with participants to more clearly understand their organisations, helping them make quality decisions often in complex situations.
